Just thought I’d have a ramble because I’m tired, annoyed and extremely stressed right now. Of course, you probably don’t want to read the ramblings of a fool. That being the case, do feel free to piss off.
NME Awards 2007:
I personally thought The View should have won more. They are one of the most talented bands around at the moment but their acceptance speech bit did make them look like a right bunch of twats. I don’t know about you but I couldn’t understand a word they were saying. They are quite young though and probably had a few too many fizzy pops. As for Primal Scream winning the Godlike Genius Award, I couldn’t agree more. It’s about bloody time though…
I have to admit, I’ve stagnated a little lately. What with the day job and all, I’ve not really had the time or energy to do anything musical whatsoever. However, I’ve got a few days off and I’m hoping I can get some “me time” to help get those creative juices flowing again. Now that I’ve finally managed to get my debut album off my chest (it’s taken about 4 years of disagreements with various record companies to get to this point) I can start afresh with a completely new outlook on things. My life has completely changed since recording all that stuff, so it’s bound to be completely different. Who knows, it might even be shit…
I’m judging a drill (military style) competition at the weekend. Should be interesting. It’s something different at least.
Molly the cat:
Those of you that follow my blog (thank you but why?) will be pleased to hear that Molly is doing just fine. I need to take some new pics to show you all! She’s getting quite big now and has discovered that she can jump very high. She does annoy me though, when she gets up on the kitchen worktops. That is no place for a cat, in my opinion.
Going to a couple of gigs over the coming months. Later this month, I’m going to see Faithless at the Brighton Centre. Should be a good one. They seem to put on a reasonable live show. The one I’m really looking forward to is Amon Tobin’s 7.1 surround DJ set at the Electric Ballroom, Camden in April. That one’s going to be a right hoot. I can feel it in my waters.
