My Mate The Poet

Now that you've left us, what will I do?
The world lost something great when it let go of you
I'll miss your lop sided political rants
About legalising stuff from strange smelling plants
Not unlike me you were a bit of a state
But no matter what happened always a mate
I could dwell on thinking I could have done more
Because that's my job, that's what mates are for
You wouldn't have that it's just not your style
"I do what I want" you'd say with a smile
That's what you do and you've done all along
But this time my friend I think you were wrong
I can't turn back time and I can't bring you back
If I could I'd be the first one to give you a smack
For now I'll say "seeya" and raise my glass
But when we meet up there I'm kicking your arse!

Goodbye Chespoet.  We love you and miss you.

Catch you on the flipside, dude!

Now your body has been laid to rest
I know of all friends, you were one of the best
As you passed by in that wooden box
I was hoping to hear a couple of knocks
I was only kidding, I hoped you'd say
As you jumped out the coffin and on your way
But that didn't happen, you've actually gone
Though only in body, your soul will live on
So I've said my goodbyes with friends old and new
Thanks for the good times, we will miss you

Still going to kick your arse!!!!

Love ya, mate!
